Chapter 21 Another Blow
Mr. Parks called Austin and told him that Mrs. Paxton was dead on Monday. They found her in her bed. They judge that she has been dead for couples of days. They held the burial the next day. There were only a few neighbors at the cemetery. Mr. Matt was put on probation for six months. Anna's keep telling herself that she fail as a minister wife because she can't help anyone.
A new baby girl joined their family on September sixth. They called her Rachael Ruth. Anna's prepared herself for another difficult winter. A missionary barrel came with a visit from the superintendent. It was the discarded clothes from people who could afford new ones. Anna was looking for a winter for Maggie, but all the clothes was summer wear. Then Anna found a way to make winter coat, she dismantle the pillow and get the feather that could give you warmth.
Chapter 22 Toughing It Out
Church conference time was approaching again, and Anna both looked forward to it and dreaded it at the same time. It would be nice to sit and chat with ladies who understands her thoughts, her feeling. But Anna felt uncomfortable as she prepared their meager wardrobe for the coming event. Anna took his Sunday shirt material and fashioned new cuffs and collar. Austin was satisfied with it. Anna always told herself that she was a failure and a wife. She always think that Austin make a wrong decision choosing her. But then Anna decided that she wouldn't attend the conference this year, even though she wanted to meet with the other ladies.
Chapter 23 News
Anna was making the new diapers of wool that she get it from the quilt of the bed. Austin arrived home on the following day. Throughout the afternoon Austin thought of little bits of news to pass on to Anna. After the girls had been tucked into bed, Austin and Anna talked. Austin told Anna about his thinking of quitting on being a ministry. Anna felt weak with the unexpected, unwelcome discovery.
Chapter 24 Mrs. Angus
Daily Anna watched for the arrival of the missionary barrel. It was hard to be patient with fall approaching and so few proper garments on hand for her small daughters. Suddenly the Angus made Anna a surprise visit with new clothes. Anna talked so much about many thing with Mrs. Angus. As Reverend and Mrs. Angus took their leave, the older woman drew the younger toward her and told her to be herself.
Chapter 25 Release
Anna spent hours in prayer in the days that followed. Through her talk with Mrs. Angus she had finally been able to forgive herself for failing Mrs. Paxton. But Anna still felt a heaviness about her lack of aptitude for the ministry. Austin worked as hard. Anna was abled to accept the truth as well. She knew that she in herself was capable of nothing of eternal value. Austin read his new script to Anna "Released to serve". A gentle and quiet peace began to fill Anna's being.
